The biennial international trade fair on animal welfare took place for a full four days from 12 November to 15 November 2024. JELU-WERK was represented there for the first time with its own stand. Visitors to the trade fair were able to find out more about our raw fibre components JELUVET® and JELUCEL®. Our all-natural celluloses and lignocelluloses are nutrient-neutral and standardisable feed components with a high swelling capacity. They can be added to livestock and pet food formulations to increase the crude fibre content of the feed in a targeted and safe manner. Animal producers, feed manufacturers and retailers in the sector showed great interest in Hanover. Both long-standing customers and partners were welcomed to exchange ideas and potential new partnerships were initiated.

Inauguration of the high-bay pallet warehouse
After just 20 months since the last hocketse, the JELU plant invited guests to the next inauguration at the company site in Rosenberg on 16 March 2024. The new high-bay pallet warehouse with state-of-the-art mobile racking was celebrated. The innovative warehouse solution is becoming increasingly important thanks to its revolutionary efficiency and flexibility. It now offers JELU-Werk 7,500 pallet spaces for raw materials, packaging and finished goods. Especially after corona and disrupted supply chains, own storage space is becoming increasingly important and guarantees JELU and its customers excellent security of supply and production basis. More than 300 guests - consisting of craftsmen, neighbours, former and active employees - came to the Swabian Hocketse and celebrated the latest milestone of JELU-Werk with delicious barbecue specialities and a relaxed atmosphere. After the meal, part two of the warehouse was opened, where a disco with DJ and bar entertained the guests until the early hours of the morning.
Back at the FIE after a 4-year break with new FSSC certification
After the end of the pandemic and the uncertainty of trade fairs, JELU-WERK was back as an exhibitor at Food Ingredients Europe (FIE) - the world's largest trade fair for food ingredients and additives. From 28 to 30 November 2023, the company presented its functional fibers to a large international audience of food industry professionals in the Frankfurt exhibition halls.
300 guests at the “Hocketse” to inaugurate the new warehouse facility
On 8 July 2022, JELU-Werk officially marked the completion of its new warehouse facility at the company's Rosenberg site. Although the building has been in use since 2021, the official opening planned for November could not go ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Improving the carbon footprint with JELU products
Climate change has become part of our political and social consciousness. Companies are coming under increased pressure to disclose and reduce their carbon emissions. The road to becoming a net-zero economy poses them the major challenge of eliminating the production of greenhouse gases harmful to the environment and of improving their carbon footprint. They can achieve this by using climate-friendly products like JELUCEL®, JELUXYL® and JELUPLAST®.
Sustainable food packaging
As part of her Design course at the Universität der Künste Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts), student Amelie Graf has developed a sustainable packaging. What is ingenious about it is that the packaging is edible and thus itself becomes food! JELUCEL® cellulose powder was used as a raw material in this. The design student has now been nominated for the German Sustainability Award Design (DNP Design) with her edible food packaging, called the Meal Bag.
Cellulose manufacturer – quality made in Germany
JELU-WERK is a medium-sized business specializing in the manufacture of cellulose powder and cellulose. For our JELUCEL® cellulose, we use natural fibre extracts, and we refrain from using any chemical additives. As a German cellulose manufacturer with an international sales network, we supply companies all over the world.
