Privacy policy

We protect your data. Here you can learn more about what data is collected by our website and how we discharge our responsibility.

JELU-WERK Josef Ehrler GmbH & Co. KG (hereinafter called “Provider”) is responsible under the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and is a service provider under the German Telemedia Act (TMG). Please also refer to our Company Details. This privacy statement informs users about the type, scope and purpose of personal data collection and how the responsible Provider of this website (hereinafter called “Site”) uses this data.

It is possible to use our website without entering personal data. We collect only purely statistical data communicated automatically by your Internet browser, such as the date and time of your visit, browser type or the last page of our website that you visited.

Personal data

The purely statistical data collected is not linked to personal data such as name, e-mail address or telephone number. We obtain this personal data only with your consent, for example when you complete one of our forms. We only use the data you supply to satisfy your requests and wishes. As a matter of principle we do not pass this data to third parties. We adopt technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against unauthorised access and manipulation.

Access files/server log files

The Provider (and/or the provider’s webspace provider) collects data (so-called server log files) about each access to the Site. This access data includes:

The name of the requested website, file, date and time of the request, amount of data transferred, message on whether the access was successful, type of browser and version, the user’s operating system, referrer URL (previously visited page), IP address and requesting provider.

The Provider uses the log files only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of the operation, security and optimisation of the Site. The Provider, however, reserves the right to subsequently review the log files when there is a reasonable suspicion of unlawful use on the basis of specific indications.

Handling personal data

Personal data is information with the help of which a person can be determined, i.e. details that can be traced back to a person. This information includes the name, the e-mail address and the phone number. Data on preferences, hobbies, memberships or websites that have been visited are also considered to be personal data.

Personal data is only collected, used and passed to third parties if this is permitted by law or if the user consents to data collection.

When a user contacts the Provider (for example, through the contact form or via e-mail), the user’s information is stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for any follow-up questions that may arise.

Integration of services and third-party content

Third-party content, such as YouTube videos, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites may be included in this website. This always presupposes that providers of such content (hereinafter called “Third-Party Providers”) make note of the user’s IP address, since web contents cannot be sent to the respective user’s browser without an IP address. The IP address is required to display such content. We strive to only offer content from providers who use the IP address exclusively for the delivery of content. However, we have no influence on whether the Third-Party Providers store the IP address for statistical purposes, for example. If this is known to us, we will inform the users thereof.

Cookies are small files that allow specific information related to the user’s access device (e.g. PC, smartphone etc.) to be stored on said device. They help, on the one hand, to improve the usability of webpages and thereby benefit the users (e.g. by storing login data). On the other hand, they serve to record statistical data regarding website use and enable the analysis of this data in order to improve the website. The user can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. However, it should be noted that without cookies the use and especially the convenience of use is restricted.

Google Analytics

This Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files which are stored on the user’s computer and permit analysis of the user’s website usage. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website by the users is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, the user’s IP address is truncated in advance by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other countries that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. IP-anonymisation is active on this website. Google will use the information on behalf of the website operator to evaluate the user’s usage of the website, to compile reports about website activity and to provide other services to the website operator related to use of the website and of the Internet.

The IP address communicated by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not associated with any other data by Google. Users may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on their browsers. This Site, however, informs users that, if they do this, they may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Users can also prevent the collection of data produced by the cookie relating to their use of the website (including their IP address) at Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on available from the following link:

As an alternative to the browser add-on or on mobile devices please click this link to prevent future data collection by Google Analytics on this website. This stores an opt-out cookie on your device. If you delete your cookies, you must click this link again.

Use of Facebook social plugins

This Site uses social plugins (“Plugins”) of the social network, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304 (“Facebook”). The plugins can be recognised by one of the Facebook logos (white “f” on blue tile or “thumbs-up” symbol) or are indicated with the additional text “Facebook Social Plugin”. The list and the appearance of the Facebook social plugins can be viewed here:

When a user requests a webpage on this Site containing such a plugin, the user’s browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. Facebook transmits the plugin content directly to the user’s browser where it is incorporated in the website. Thus the Provider has no influence on the extent to which Facebook collects data by means of this plugin and therefore informs the users in accordance with the Provider’s own knowledge:

By embedding the plugins, Facebook gets the information that a user has requested the respective page of the Site. If the user is logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to his or her Facebook account. Whenever a user interacts with the plugins by clicking the Like button or entering a comment, for example, the user’s browser transfers the respective information directly to Facebook and stores it there. If a user is not a Facebook member, it may nevertheless be possible that Facebook gets to know and stores the user’s IP address. According to Facebook only anonymised IP addresses are stored in Germany.

Information on the purpose and scope of data collection and on further processing and usage of this data by Facebook as well as on the rights and options to protect the user’s privacy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy on:

If a user is a Facebook member and does not want this Site to collect data about the user’s behaviour and link it to the user’s data stored in Facebook, the user must log out from Facebook prior to visiting this website.
