Cellulose filter aid: ecological and economical
Our JELUCEL® cellulose is a filter aid that allows ecological and economical filtration. The cellulose is used in precoat filtration, in combination with mineral filter aids and as a pressing aid. As a precoat and body feed, our cellulose makes up for defects in the filter cloth and improves the filtration result. JELUCEL® optimises cake stability of mineral filter aids and prevents particles from bleeding through. When used as a pressing aid, the excellent drainage effect of the cellulose fibres manifests itself: sediments are effectively adsorbed during pressing. Our JELUCEL® filter aid is:

Harmless to humans and nature
JELUCEL® is an organic cellulose that we produce from renewable resources. The cellulose powder is approved for foodstuffs, is non-carcinogenic and does not contain any ingredients that may lead to occupational health concerns. Our JELUCEL® cellulose powders are 100% biodegradable. Filter cakes containing organic powdered cellulose can be disposed of ecologically and trouble-free: they can be fed, composted or burnt.
Cost-efficient and economical filtration
Compared to mineral filter aids, the purchasing costs of JELUCEL® celluloses are usually higher. This fact, however, is more than compensated for by the positive properties of filter cellulose. It’s low wet cake density results in considerably less amounts of filter aid to be consumed than with mineral filter aids. In addition, product losses are reduced due to high permeability, and disposal of filter sludge does hardly incur any costs. Moreover, using cellulose substantially reduces plant maintenance costs. All in all, filtration with our JELUCEL® cellulose powders is much more economical than with conventional filter aids.

Our organic cellulose is suitable for precoat filtration of liquids that require optimum clarity and are used as precoats and body feeds. The fibrous structure of the cellulose forms a permeable and well-reinforced filter cake that is able to safely and effectively adsorb sediment and very fine particles. Customisable to individual applications
We provide a broad range of different types of JELUCEL® cellulose powders. This ensures that the filtration process is customised to the unfiltrate and locally installed filtration systems in order to achieve the best possible filtration parameters. JELUCEL® filter aids are available in different fibre lengths and thus with customised permeability characteristics. JELUCEL® can be used as the sole filter aid and can be combined with traditional filter aids to improve filtration results.
